In the bluebell wood

It's bluebell time, and I just can't get enough of them. Two weeks ago I wrote about how we got lost in the wood in Ryton Pools . Well, this time we did not get lost and the bluebells in the wood were wonderful. As well as walking a large section of the wood, we also walked all around the park, so, as usual, it was a fairly long walk.

Before reaching the wood we stopped by one of the pools and saw two Canada geese with a baby.

I love these fluff balls - they are so cute!

We then entered the wood. It's an ancient wood

Very soon after we saw our first bluebells

A large section of ground covered

We continued on the path, bluebells on either side

Another huge section of ground, all covered, but we continued as we were aiming to get to the top of the hill where we knew from previous years that there would be a riot of blue

and soon enough, we got there. We turned right into the tiny path in the middle of the bluebells

and we were literally surrounded - in front of us, behind, on either side

Such beauty.

And, of course, the aroma. Heavenly!

We have three more trips planned to different woods, and I can't wait!
