Great Books of the Artists, published by Stratis Elefteriades - Teriade.
Teriade was active in publishing from the inter-war period until the mid-70s. Teriade worked with some of the most important artists of the 20th century such as Matisse, Bonnard, Braque, Picasso, Chagall, Giacometti, who not only illustrated but who also took control of the whole process: text, cover, fonts, printing techniques, down to the choice of paper.
The results were stunning. This was a highly enjoyable exhibition with hundreds of illustrations as well as text.
The lighting in the room, coupled with the glass that covered the illustrations meant that most of the photographs I took are of very poor quality, full of little lighted dots, so this is a very small selection of the ones that did not come out too badly.
