The Oxford Ceramics Gallery, Walton Street, Oxford.
Amazing selection of ceramics at the gallery this time, so much I really liked. Not so happy with my photographs though - too many shadows, but I still had to post some so as to remember....

One of these days I shall get there. It is so strange that I lived and worked there for years, and yet have hardly been back to Walton Street/Crescent since.
ReplyDeleteAll the pieces you show are lovely, and I am reminded that I have long desired a small pot by Duncan Ross to go with my African pieces. Food for thought.
It's a lovely area of Oxford, isn't it? I used to also really like Little Clarendon Street which is just opposite where the shop is, but a lot of the interesting shops there have closed down now. I'm sure you'll manage to go there one day.
DeleteAs for the shop, it's wonderful. And it's the only shop I know that only sells ceramics - no pictures, no jewellery, just pots. I have a mailing from them two weeks ago saying that they are interested in buying ceramics (of known artists) from customers - I thought that was quite interesting too.
I bought Mervyn a Derek Wilson piece some time ago. The indentations are lovely and the celadon glaze is perfect.
ReplyDeleteLucky Mervyn. I liked those pieces a lot - celadon is wonderful.
