While we were walking up Drottningatan in the district of Vasastan in Stockholm, we came upon Centralbadet, the central baths. Designed by Wilhelm Klemming, in classic Art Nouveau style, the baths opened in 1904.
The wrought iron gates give one a taste of what is to come.
The baths are in the middle of a small, luscious, serene garden
with a pool and fountain in the middle.
This is the best shot I could get of the building as it's partly hidden by the trees in this beautiful garden
the rest can only be teasingly viewed in parts
classic Art Nouveau style
and oh so beautiful
these huge windows are probably where the pool is
a better view of the large windows and the statue in front
a gorgeous tower
and we arrived at the entrance where outdoor seating for the café is.
The entrance
The café was deserted inside as it was such a beautiful day
but I stopped to admire how well preserved its classic features are
a fountain
tiny little tables to place one's glass on
beautiful stained glass windows.
Like everyone else we sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine.
