Kerameio is a pottery studio and shop in Kato Hora in Serifos. A large range of ceramic pieces was on display when I visited, some made in the studio and some from ceramicists from all over Greece. It was very difficult to work out the names of the makers, so I gave up in the end.
A second shop, in Livadi, owned by the same people
sells clothes, jewellery, and some ceramics too
which now hangs on a wall of our minimalist terrace.
What is the 'cycladic concept'?
ReplyDeleteI wondered if the ceramic figures with what look like 'sosivio' rings hanging from their necks were representations of the refugees. I find them moving.
I wondered about 'cycladic concept' too, Olga: all I could think of is style/art influenced by Cycladic art. I should have asked them, really.
DeleteThe figures are moving indeed, particularly placed as a group, as they are in the shop.
I enjoyed my visit to the shop, and the prices were a fraction of what they would be charging in Athens.
