Our beach

Summer has come to an end, and our beach is almost empty.

It's still operational, but the first three rows of umbrellas and beds have been removed and it feels really odd. Not many people here as you can see, but we continue to come most days, weather permitting, as we've had a few rainy days and one mighty thunderstorm that lasted 3 hours.

A few people persist in coming, including the winter swimmers, who brave the cold and continue swimming  all year round.

The dismantling of the beach usually occurs at the end of September, but it's been a particularly mild October so the closing of the beach has been pushed forward for at least 2 weeks - when they will close it completely, we don't know.

It's the best of times: very few people, the sea is warm, and it's just lovely.
