Photographs cannot do justice to these monumental paintings as they need to be looked at 'in the flesh'.
Wide brush strokes, cool shades, brilliant and yes, deep blues, that pulsate on the canvas. They are positioned on the boundary between representational and abstract, reality and illusion, the visible and the invisible.
Kaglis was born in Athens in 1974. He studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts. 'This is the exact element I like about painting, the fact that it's handcrafted, it has this element of primitiveness one might say, it's about instinct as well as thinking, somehow distanced from the daily infliction of technology'.
