Back in the UK, and the weather is getting us a bit down, particularly the lack of light - it's been grey, grey, and we miss the light in Greece.
Our walks continue however, and very soon after we arrived, we went for a long walk in Charlecote Park. We started with West Park
A grey day, and the signs of winter devastation everywhere
It must have been a mighty storm to take those two huge branches down
I love this wide, long avenue
with its huge, ancient trees.
some with hollows
and some with fungi growing on the trunks
then, we saw the deer
I moved as close as I could - they did not move away
We could see the house through the trees
and then, later, the bridge
view from the bridge
and the first signs of spring
crocus
such a vibrant blue
hellebores
and we arrived at the lake, just as the sun came out, and our mood immediately changed
wonderful reflections
this kid fit smugly in the hollow of this tree
We entered Places Meadow, a lowland flood meadow, which is apparently 27 acres
where Jacob's sheep were grazing
Ahhh!
We walked all around the meadow and then came out to the main area of the park again, where we saw more deer
we walked along the lake
past the church and then it was time to go home.
