Leamington Canal Festival

This is the second year we've attended this festival which happens around Clemens Street.

There were some community stalls

or of national organisations, like the lifeboats

as well as the usual stalls you find at events like this, of cakes

handmade soap,

clothing

and crystals.

A band were about to set up

We walked on

past the Portuguese cafe

Ah! Pasteis de nata. I love them

street art on a side street

and then we got to a more unusual stall

whose owners were very happy to be photographed

the merchandise being sold was predominantly skulls

We had come to the end of the stalls on Clemens Street so we decided to walk along the canal for a bit

Not many canal boats this year

a piece of street art on the side

We decided to walk in the opposite direction as it's less industrial

I love these canal bridges

We walked for a while but then decided we wanted to go back to the festival

More street art

One of the bands were playing

More street art

We could hear them before we could see them - the Sambassadors of Groove

they were fabulous, mermerising. We stayed and listened for about half an hour, until they stopped. The guy in front was totally out of it, and he swayed and danced the whole time, totally obvlivious to everything except for the music

They are a local band. They were wearing steampunk hats - just a fashion statement apparently, I asked at the end

They were sooo good.
