Ceramic Journey Around Greece : Crete

Ceramic Journey Around Greece: Crete, at MonCoin Studio.

Just a few steps away from the ancient cemetery of Keramikos which 2,500 years ago was home to the city's famous workshops where all sorts of craftspeople exhibited and sold their ceramic work, Mon Coin is situated.

The work exhibited this time is from Crete (last time was from Sifnos and you can see it here ).

Like with most exhibitions in the gallery, the work that's been chosen taps into ancient ceramics traditions and mythical narratives for inspiration, exploring how the 'echo' of ancient Greek art resonated in contemporary creations. Going further this time, there is a whole section of work that are copies of ancient Greek ceramics.
