14N

What an amazing day yesterday turned out to be! The european Trades Union Confederation called for a day of action against austerity in Europe. General strikes in Greece, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Malta, Cyprus and solidarity action in Britain, Belgium, France and Germany. It turned out to be mucn more successful than anticipated.

A first for Europe. A common general strike for Europe... International organising and solidarity in action.

So many hundreds of thousands of people. Reports say that one million took to the streets in Barcelona. Is anyone listening?

The photographs speak for themselves. The ten year old child crying because he had been assaulted by police and the Greek woman holding a placard with the words 'dear God, hunger scares me' , too poignant for words...
