Even though we are in Greece now, there is still so much I want to record from our trip to Copenhagen, and it's a good way of remembering....
When we visited the Tivoli Gardens I was expecting a park like any other park in a city, like Central Park in New York or Hyde Park in London. But Tivoli is something else:
it's a theme park in the middle of the city
with lots of rides
where there is nowhere in the whole of the park where you don't get the background noise of people screaming and squealing
The 85 kr (around £10) entrance fee should have alerted me to the fact that this is no ordinary park.
There are other things to do as well,
beautiful grounds to walk around in,
restaurants,
lots of restaurants,
a boating lake,
a Chinese-style pantomime theatre,
bandstands,
parts of it are very beautiful
but it was too organised for my liking, too commercial, too consumerist.
I liked this fountain with its interrupted arc of water.
Ahhh! What a fluffball! So cute.
