Adria Palace in the Belvaros district, designed in 1913 and completed in 1918. It was badly damaged during WWII, then during the Communist era it was the headquarters of the Budapest Police until 1997. Since 2000 it's a hotel.
A very simple design, but all around the building on the ground floor are these life-sized sculptures:
I had to go in, of course....
wonderful stained glass dome
intricate Art Nouveau design on the balconies
and, no building is complete in Budapest without some kind of wrought iron door, or screen, or whatever.
