During our walk in Southwark we came across Peter Layton's glassblowing workshop/gallery and stopped to have a look.
The exhibits were beautiful and I marvelled at how it is possible to produce such complex pieces.
The gallery was founded by Peter Layton in 1976 and is now one of Europe's foremost glass art galleries and longest running hot-glass studio. Layton discovered glassblowing while teaching ceramics in the US in the mid-1960s. He enrolled in the University's glass blowing programme and has been working with glass ever since.
The gallery were in the process of having a silent action: inexplicably, there was no indication of who the maker of each piece up for auction, was.
