Mon Coin Studio at Plaka, Athens.
The exhibition consists of ceramics from the island of Sifnos. Sifnos is well-known for its ceramics, and you can find lots of examples in Athens galleries and shops,
particularly, of this series which are made by Yannis and Nikos Lembesis. We own a few pieces which we use on a regular basis.
Most of the pieces in the exhibition are functional. I have indicated, as usual, the name of the maker under each piece - the words in brackets denote the town/village where the maker's studio is located.
It's a very timely exhibition for us as we just have booked us a break on the island of Sifnos, so it was a foretaste of what is to come.
