Work in progress

I have written before about how part of the promenade in our area is collapsing into the sea, how our mayor has wanted to have it fixed with local council funds and how central government has been refusing to give the go-ahead.

Now at last, things are changing. A floating platform with a crane has been set up in the sea and work is in progress.

The collapsing promenade will be re-established, a crash barrier will be built, and furthermore, loads of sand will be hauled into the sea to create a sandy beach which is another exciting development to look forward to.

All the rubble gets lifted

on to the platform, so that there is minimum disruption

I am looking forward to seeing our new promenade and beach in the January when we will be coming back here.
