Warwickshire Open Studios, 2021 - 1

Warwickshire Open Studios were on again after a year's break because of the pandemic. It's always great to be able to see the work of local artists. Unfortunately, we were not be able to visit many venues as we were due to travel to Greece, but we managed to fit some in.

Hilary La Force, ceramics:

I'm a great fan of LaForce's work. She works in stoneware and porcelain, the larger pieces being coil built, while the others are created using a combination of techniques, including slip casting and slab building. She makes large bowls, vases small tea bowls, as well as the 'fragile landscape' series. It's the mixture of crystalline and volcanic glaze that makes her ceramics so unique.
