Art in the Park

Just before coming to Greece we went to Art in the Park in Leamington. It's a first, as we're  usually in Greece by August.

We could see all the tents from across the river

We started with Mill Gardens - lots of tents/stalls

and lots of people.

The food and drink tents were near the entrance so we started looking at those first

people were already eating even though it was still early.

On the stage, a band were performing

The Barbara Robjant abstracts are very pleasing

Next, the Heather Miller paintings

We left the Mill Gardens and crossed the bridge to get to Jephson Gardens where the rest of the Fest was going on

the river as peaceful as ever

Lots going on in Jephson Gardens

including Music Lessons, the first one being free

Adventures in Material and Space for the kids

and lots of other activities for children and young people.

The food and drink section was busy

long queues

and lots of people listening to the band on the stage

Bryan B. Kelly paintings

Sanna ceramics

Pottery by Deloise

The park was full, everyone enjoying themselves

and some entertainment

More pottery

Doodles by Luke Crump

and someone having their portrait doodled

Nicholas Marsh ceramics

Claire ceramics

We listened to this band while we were having some lunch

and so did lots of other people

Then looked at some of Sara Huxley's paintings

wandered around some more

looked at Claire Brown's smoke fired ceramics

 and eventually headed home.

  1. Oh wow. There was a lot there.
For me, I liked the Heather Miller tree branch paintings - vivid and reminded me of Anslem kieffer a bit. And those ceramics were beautiful. would love to have the one with the black smeer across it on my table.

    1. It was a great day - I am so glad we managed to get there. Yes, you are right, the Miller painting is a bit like a Kiefer. The ceramics were good. I was very tempted, but I resisted.
