Saint Eugenia's Catholic Church in Stockholm

Having left the former royal gardens, Kungstradgarden in Norrmalm in Stockholm, we came upon this neo-renaissance building with a gilded cross above the principal door. We went inside.

This is the awe-inspiring entrance hall to Saint Eugenia's Catholic church. It was built in 1982 on plans of the Danish architect Jorgen Kjaergaard.

This is the oldest Catholic parish in Sweden  since the reformation. Services are held in Swedish, English, Polish and Arabic.

The whole place is absolutely stunning

and next door, separated by an adorned grilled from the main liturgic space, St Mary's chapel.
