The Great Market Hall in the Ferencvaros district in Pest.
The wrought iron market hall was extremely busy both times we visited.
A real feat of engineering, it's on two levels
The ground floor is full of stalls selling fruit, vegetables, spices, bakery goods, caviar, meat, fish and everything else you can think of.
The stalls selling spices, nuts and dried fruits were the most colourful ones,
I was intrigued by these: cherry paprika they call them, and I had never seen them before
The upstairs is full of stand-up or sit-down food stalls
Budapest is full of indoor markets. Five opened on a single day in 1896 and they still serve the centre of Pest.
