Karina Wisniewska

Karina Wisniewska at Albermarle Gallery, London.

Wisniewska was a chamber musician and concert pianist before working as a visual artist. She says her paintings are translations of her favourite musical compositions into visual form and that her goal in painting is the same as that in performing music: 'to forget all that I have practiced in order to allow the movements to flow freely'. Her paintings frequently feature rhythmically repeating geometric and organic forms in lush colours.
